Curriculum Vitae

Markus Lemmer studied electical engineering and information technology at the Karlsruher Institut of Technologiy (KIT). During his studies in the field of control engineering he focused on the control of electrical drives. Practical work in the pre-development sector oft he Siemens AG. He concluded his studies with his master thesis "Design and Analysis of Discrete-Time Linear-Quadratic Two-Player Tracking" at the Institut of Control Systems (IRS).

Since October 2018 he works as a research scientist at the FZI Research Center for Information Technology of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the area of embedded systems and sensors engineering (ESS).

Research

Development of driver models for intersection scenarios

A major challenge in the development process of highly-automated vehicles is the validation task. While traditional vehicles are validated using test drives, this is not practicable or economical for highly-automated driving functions due to the increased testing efforts.

An alternative in the validation process is the usage of simulation. Key components of such a simulation environment are simulation models, representing the interactive behaviour between drives and other traffic participants.

Therefore a game theoretic model, representing the interactive behaviour of human drivers in an inner urban junction scenario shall be developed.
