The course covers two main topics: Software Tools and Control Tools.

Two major parts:

  • Software Tool:
    • Clean Code
    • Version Control Systems (Git)
    • ROS2 with practical system examples
      • Practical software systems with lessons learned
  • Control Tools:
    • Advanced PID controller
    • Model Predictive Controller
    • Human-Machine Interaction Systems
      • Robotic applications with impedance control
      • Autonomous cooperative vehicles
    • Homework assignments preparation based on the lecture content
Course Material Lecture Slides in ILIAS

Workload

  • Attendance time in lecture/exercise: 30h
  • Preparation and revision of course content: 37.5h
  • Preparation of the homework assignment: 22.5h
  • Preparation and attendance of the oral exam: 30 h

Goals

1.    The students will be able to analyze, structure and formally describe problems in the field of
        practical control engineering.
2.    The students are able to use the necessary tools for software projects with control engineering focus.
3.    The students can apply the methods

•    Modular software development for control engineering problems
•    Model Predictive Controller for practical engineering problems
•    Inevitable software engineering tools to able to develop control system

Exam

Oral examination of approximately 25 minutes. The presentation of the homework is part of the exam. Grades will be announced immediately after the exam.

Beforehand:

  • Online registration via CAS is mandatory.
  • Homework must be submitted via GitHub 2 weeks before the exam.
